The UFC is targeting a May 15 event at the Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., according to a report from MMAJunkie.com, with a middleweight bout between Tom Lawlor and Jason MacDonald expected for the card.
The event may be UFC on FX 3, though nothing has been made official at this point. The event will be the UFC's second at the Patriot Center in a seven month timespan, as the venue played host to October's UFC on Versus 6 event.
Should the Lawlor-MacDonald bout be finalized, it may be a "must-win" fight for both fighters. Lawlor has lost three of his last four fights, most recently getting submitted by Chris Weidman in November. For MacDonald, he's lost two of three, most recently submitting to strikes against Alan Belcher in September.
