For painfully obvious reasons, there has been a tremendous outpouring of questions regarding the death of MMA trainer Shawn Tompkins and heart disease among young athletes in general. How could it happen to such a fit and young athlete? Shouldn't someone have known that he was at risk? Isn't there a test to catch these things?
The questions are heartfelt and endless. And the truth is cold and sobering.
