After declaring himself fit to challenge anyone, Vitor Belfort (19-9) has an official opponent for his first fight since losing his middleweight title bid to Anderson Silva at UFC 126: Japanese import, Yoshihiro Akiyama (13-3-0-2). The two are now set to meet on the main card of UFC 133.

Belfort has done an impressive job of rejuvenating his career since dropping south of the 205 pound mark. Over the last three years, Belfort has destroyed Terry Martin, Matt Lindland, and Rich Franklin, while losing only a single fight at 185 pounds, that being the first round trouncing delivered by longtime champion Anderson Silva just two months ago.

Yoshihiro Akiyama on the other hand has experienced a bit of a career slide as of late. Since being signed by the UFC, Akiyama has compiled an unimpressive record of 1-2. His lone victory under the Zuffa owned promotion came against Alan Belcher in a fight that many believe should have been awarded in Belcher?s favor. Akiyama last competed at UFC 120, where he dropped a unanimous decision to brash Brit, Michael Bisping.

UFC President Dana White made the news of Belfort?s return, and opponent known today while speaking with espn.co.uk. UFC 133 is scheduled for August 6th, at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia.
