I am one of the last people to "narc out" and ruin some quiet pothead's fun (possibly because I come from a country that is fairly pot-friendly), but pot (at least for me) ended up being like kerosene added to a fire after a certain point. Because I had cut ties with most people, including my family (during my phase of trying to convert to "asceticism"), no one was around to witness my pot consumption, and notice how it was affecting my mental health. I wouldn't say that marijuana was the sole cause of my condition, but it certainly aggravated it.
